In November, Prof. Dr. Rachel Herwartz will be holding four exciting online training courses on the topic of terminology work in the age of AI and MT for beginners and advanced users on behalf of the BDÜ Weiterbildungs- und Fachverlagsgesellschaft.
On November 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the training “Terminology work in times of AI and MT for beginners – new tasks for translators” will take place.
The webinar provides the necessary knowledge about the current requirements for multilingual terminology work in times of AI, about methods and their implementation in various tools. 1.5 hours of theory is followed by a workshop section with interactive exercises in which participants can also reflect on and evaluate their own experiences with tools and terminology projects.

On November 18 from 9:30 to 13:00, the focus will be on “Terminology work in times of AI and MT for advanced users – designing terminology databases”.
The webinar will provide you with the necessary knowledge about the current requirements for the design of multilingual termbases. The 1.5 hours of theory will be followed by a workshop section in which participants will be able to implement various concepts in online databases and reflect on and evaluate their own experiences with the design of termbases.

On November 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the training course “Terminology work in times of AI and MT for advanced users – exchanging terminological data” will continue.
The webinar provides the necessary knowledge about current exchange formats and tools that can facilitate the conversion. 1.5 hours of theory is followed by a workshop section in which participants can compare different exchange formats and convert them into other formats. The last training course in this series “Terminology work in times of AI and MT for advanced users – developing term systems” will take place on November 28 from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm.
The webinar provides the necessary knowledge about the possibilities of visualizing the relationship between terms in a terminology management system. 1.5 hours of theory is followed by a workshop section in which the participants examine the systems they use to see how the relationship between terms could be represented, followed by their own development of a term system in an online tool.
